A man in South Africa builds a replica Mercedes Benz

A South African man who loves Mercedes-Benz built a high-quality replica of a Mercedes-Benz C11 Group C racing car.
He built the replica of this successful race car in his garage without blueprints and technical studies,
and it’s hard to tell the difference between the original and his other replica, a Zuber C9 replica, which is legal to drive on the road.

How he built his amazing car replica

He buys a scale model of the car he wants to replicate and uses his imagination to think about how the parts will look at full size.
Car manufacturers don’t release the specifications and dimensions of their cars due to the competitive nature of motorsports.
So he recreates the car solely by using his metal-forming skills and his eyes.
His finished replica car has imperfections because he hasn’t seen the original car’s drawings,
but compared to many replicas that say they are replicas and have crappy designs and proportions,
his replica car doesn’t have that.

What makes his car replica even more amazing

Also, what makes his replica special is that the parts used are from the same manufacturer,
so he can make the replica exactly the same.
The car is also very drivable with 406 horsepower and weighs about the same,
but some changes would be needed for practicality.
